THE MAN WHO SCALED SKYSCRAPERS

April 3, 2011

The man who scaled skyscrapers felt mighty low. He sighed and sank deeper into the embrace of the sofa. What was the use? Skyscrapers with scales were certainly scarce, it’s true. What was he supposed to do? Go to work in a fish market? As if. He scaled skyscrapers, not haddock. He stared at the blank television screen. The remote was right there, a mere sit-forward-and-reach away. He didn’t care. It was too much to contemplate lifting his arm. Sitting forward was out of the question. And so, remorse for the choices he’d made ruled the day. And, truth to tell, the night as well.
