BANAL INTERVIEWS WITH CELEBRITY GHOSTS – HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW

August 11, 2013

Loon: I am told by the Lords of the 4th Dimension that today’s guest for the 3 question interview, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was a famous poet. Mr. Longfellow, how hard is it to think up rhymes?

Longfellow’s ghost: Rhymes are not of prime importance.

Loon: I see. What is then?

Longfellow’s ghost: Rhythm is the guiding lantern.

Loon: Oh. Let’s see. Um, did you use one of those feather pens to write with?

Longfellow’s ghost: Feather pens were not unheard of. Sharpened quills I used myself. Sometimes, though, the ink was blotchy. So I had to mop it up.

Loon: Er, thanks for the interview. Good-bye.

Longfellow’s ghost: Fare you well, sir. Now I leave you, flit away into the void.

(Ghost flits into void. Loon withdraws from room.)
