I quite feel that an apology is due for beginning a novel with two long dull chapters full of description. So Anthony Trollope directly addresses his readers near the beginning of Chapter Two in his novel, Doctor Thorne. Apology accepted, Tony, as your story turns out to be very engaging indeed.
