THE LOON’S TRIFFID

October 23, 2011

While strolling through the park one day, and not in the merry month of May, the loon fell into conversation with this wandering triffid. On discovering that they shared many mutual interests, the loon invited the triffid to live permanently in the loon’s front yard in exchange for all the venison the triffid could capture and devour. The loon would be rid of the pesky leaf nibblers, and the triffid would finally have a place to settle down after wandering willy nilly around and about. Delighted with the offer, the triffid accepted, accompanied the loon home and took root. Now, not a day passes without the loon and the triffid sharing a few laughs or discussing various transportation rates. Once in a while, the loon can be heard singing while the triffid nibbles on an antler.
