THE WALTER CATLETT KWIZ ANSWER

August 31, 2012

Walter was a nationally ranked river swimmer. As a San Francisco youth, he swam daily from Angel Island, where he camped each summer, to Oakland and back again. This activity soon prepared him for river swimming, which he took to with gusto. Therefore, it was no surprise to anybody at all that on ‘Bringing Up Baby’ off days he flew to Northern California in his own private supersonic transport toboggan, invented by Walter himself, and plunged into the Sacramento River and vigorously churned about for hours.
