THE BOLDNESS OF CARRINGTON
Carrington’s heart rattled like a jackhammer. He felt faint, nevertheless he succeeded in passing into the breakroom unnoticed. Before his courage had time to fail, he stepped to the counter and opened the cupboard where the coffee mugs sat in an ordered row. He took his supervisor’s mug in trembling hand and moved it to a lower shelf. Swiftly he closed the cupboard door. Swiftly he exited the room. Casually, now daring to breathe, he returned to his workplace in silent triumph.
