BANAL INTERVIEWS WITH CELEBRITY GHOSTS – MARCEL DUCHAMP

January 6, 2013

Loon: They’ve brought me some artist named Marcel Duchamp. I’m not the greatest on art and things, but I’ll give it a go. 3 questions. Number one – Mister … or I suppose Herr, you being some sort of foreigner … Duchamp, in the olden days did you guys worship the sun?

Marcel Duchamp’s ghost: It depends on whether you’re talking about Thursday or tarantulas.

Loon: I’m … not … sure. Let me rephrase the question. Did you eat a lot of candy bars while you worked?

Marcel Duchamp’s ghost: Ah, Thursday it is. You may proceed.

Loon: Oh. Well … I … Okay … Why do you like Thursday so much?

Marcel Duchamp’s ghost: Tarantulas now? Really, mon ami, you should make up your mind.

Loon: ?????????

(Duchamp’s ghost flutters and disappears into the wainscoting.)

BANAL INTERVIEWS WITH CELEBRITY GHOSTS – MAE WEST

December 30, 2012
Tags:

Loon: Today for our 3 questions we welcome the writer I consider to be the finest playwright in American history. I’m honored, Ms. West.

Mae West’s ghost: Mmmm, thanks, honey, but honor has nothin’ to do with it.

Loon: What do you mean?

Mae West’s ghost: I always mean what I say. Get me?

Loon: I’m not sure. At any rate, moving on, how do you go about writing a play?

Mae West’s ghost: It ain’t the writer in the play that’s important. It’s the play in the writer.

Loon: What do you mean?

Mae West’s ghost: Bein’ dead ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. Say, you’re all right. Mmm, come on over when you croak.

(Mae dissipates. Loon blinks his eyes, mouth agape.)
