The stranger afterward related that Tennessee beguiled the time with interesting anecdote and reminiscence, but illogically concluded the interview in the following words: “and now, young man, I’ll trouble you for your knife, your pistols, and your money.”

In the story ‘Tennessee’s Partner’, Tennessee beguiles time. Much obliged, Bret.

The loon covered the walls and ceiling of his lair with this wallpaper. At long last the walls and ceiling match the wall to wall carpeting and the bedspread. Result? The loon’s jiggle leg has noticeably increased tempo.

THE GLOWING PRINCESS

Tags:

Once upon a time in a Queendom by the nearest freeway, Queen Blood Lily of the Moon despaired of her daughter, the Princess Ferret Eyes. For you see, although Ferret Eyes was as lovely as a cormorant, she displayed a marked tendency to glow. Therefore, a competition to douse the Princess was proposed by the Queen. Lovely Ferret Eyes resented with a passion this insult to her illumination. She vowed to do something about it. And she did. Yes, in three days time, she glowed with satisfaction seated on her adored three-legged stool. She was the lone creature left alive in the former Queendom now Princessdom by the freeway, and she lived reasonably satisfied until she died two weeks later.

King Kong shuffled down the hall and paused at the kitchen door

He scrunched his face and muttered, ‘Now what did I come here for?’

He shook his head and turned away feeling sort of numb

As the water cooking his morning eggs steamed off to kingdom come

The surface snow, though sprinkled with stones shot down from the cliffs, was in some places almost pure, gradually becoming crystalline and changing to whitish porous ice of different shades of color, and this again changing at a depth of 20 or 30 feet to blue ice, some of the ribbon-like bands of which were nearly pure, and blended with paler bands in the most gradual and delicate manner imaginable.

GRETA GARBO KWIZ ANSWER

Tags:

Greta Garbo did live in a small hut near the La Brea Tar Pits, although she didn’t care much one way or the other where she lived. The hut was convenient to the Tar Pits, true. But any other domicile in the area would have suited her daily Tar Pits habit just as well. However, she had a passionate, never fulfilled, desire to own a herd of donkeys. It was her greatest regret.
