She then crossed the street to return the pen she had borrowed from the dairy cow who owned the flower shop. After learning that the cow was lunching at Bernie’s Place, the diligent foal hurried to that eatery and successfully returned the pen. She was that diligent, while at the same time embezzling millions from her employer.
She lived in the town of Burnet, which wasn’t a very big town, but was growing as fast as it knew how.
Thus in a narrative voice of gentle whimsy is the book, What Kay Did, written.
