A FAVORITE PG WODEHOUSE SENTENCE
If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.

NOT ABOUT FISH
This here rhyme is not about fish.
Rather it’s all about making a wish.
Oh moon, or sun, or any old star
Up there above me, please fix my car.
Thanks in advance. I’ll be in the bar.
THE MAN WHO STEPPED OUT OF HIS DREAM
The man who stepped out of his dream initialed the last page of the commitment papers. Two burly flunkies stepped forward at a nod from the cruel mistress and dragged the man down a long unlit corridor. They flung him into a bare concrete cube of a room and bashed shut the spike laden door. The man sighed a thankful sort of a sigh out into the welcoming inky dark. For you see, he had escaped a nightmare far worse than a bare concrete cell with a spike laden door. He had escaped a dream wherein his self tracheotomy had gone horribly wrong. He congratulated himself on his near escape.
‘I perform tracheotomies for free, don’t you know,’ hissed a voice from directly behind his left ear. A stench of long forgotten offal enveloped the man’s head. He never dreamed again.
SMITHEREENS
Smithereens is something I’d prefer not to be smashed to.
