December 8, 2012

And he laid her down there, and saw the pride of his heart and the triumph of his system, lying, an insensible heap, at his feet.

This is on page 254 of Hard Times and pretty much sums up what was, for Dickens, a 342 page piece of flash fiction.

MARIE DRESSLER KWIZ ANSWER

November 30, 2012

Though she did give out salmon jerky on one memorable Halloween, Marie’s strangest behavior took place every summer during the decade of the 1890s when she spent 8 to 10 weeks roaming the Canadian Rockies in the company of three surly grizzly bear brothers. Any questions put to her later about those times were answered with a half smile, an upward gaze, and a sigh.
